Everything You Need to Know About Our
Apple Tours
SOLD OUT for 2024.
We opened up a limited number of apple tours on 9/21 and 9/22.
These tours were fully booked with hundreds on the waitlist in less than an hour.
The farm still has lots to offer. We invite you to look into our farm activities.
At Julian Farm and Orchard, the opportunity to participate in u-pick apples is ONLY available to those on an "apple tour" reservation. Apple Tours are booked through our online booking system (Xola). Mother Nature determines when the apples will be ripe.
Our apple crop is limited and there is a very high demand for u- pick apples. When the apple supply allows, apple tours take place during our normal business hours.
We have 15 varieties of apples with most having tentative ripening dates between September-the end of October. The ripening dates for any variety are approximations due to differences in yearly weather patterns.
What is an Apple Tour?
Julian Farm and Orchard staff will greet apple tour participants in the waiting area. They will take our tour guests on an educational walking tour of our apple orchard. Along the way, they will share apple facts and point out things in our orchard that often go unnoticed to non-farmers. Staff will answer any questions guests may have before pointing out the recommended trees with ripe fruit to pick from.
Our Apple tour is 30-45 minutes depending on guest interaction and how long it takes to pick apples.
Important Things to Know for Apple Tours
-
Cost of tour and u-pick bag for apples is TBD. Check back soon.
-
The purchase of a u-pick apple bag and apple tours is necessary to pick apples.
-
Our u-pick apples are sold separately from tours on site by volume based on availability. Apple bags will be sold on-site at check-in to only guests with an apple tour reservation.
-
We provide the bag to fill with u-pick apples. Guests cannot bring their own bag or basket to fill with apples.
-
The number of apple bags one may purchase may be restricted to allow everyone with a tour the opportunity to pick apples. Additional bags of pre-picked Julian apples are available for purchase in the gift shop.
-
The purchase of an Apple Tour ticket waives our general admission.
-
Each participant 3 years and older must have a reservation to participate.
-
Minors must be accompanied by a paid adult.
-
An apple tour reservation does not guarantee u-pick apple availability. Apple tours will take place regardless of apple supply.
-
Our apple tour is capped at 25 participants. If there are not enough open slots for each member of your party, please find another time that can accommodate your whole party.
-
We are a sustainable farm and do not spray pesticides. We only use neem oil as needed. Our apples may have coddling moth holes in them.
Waiting List
-
If all seats are full in a tour timeslot, our booking system will allow you to join the waiting list for that tour timeslot.
-
Being on a timeslot waiting list does not mean that you have a reservation. Our booking system will automatically notify you if a spot large enough to accommodate your party becomes available. You must book the open spot(s) to get an apple tour reservation.
Checking in for an Apple Tour
-
Your reservation slot is reserved for you.
-
Apple Tour guests will check in at the apple tour check-in at the ticket booth using the name on the reservation.
-
We recommend arriving at least 45 minutes prior to the tour time to allow time for parking, check-in, etc.
-
Guests must be checked in 10 minutes prior to the tour start time.
-
Tours will begin at start times. Out of respect for everyone on a tour, tours start promptly at the scheduled start time. Julian Farm and Orchard is not responsible if you miss your tour time.
-
Guests are not allowed in the orchard without a staff member.
What to Wear and Bring
-
It is highly encouraged that guests dress appropriately for a day on our working 25-acre sustainable farm. Please wear closed-toed shoes, dress according to the daily weather forecast, bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and drinking water.
-
Strollers are welcome. Walking paths consist of hard dirt, gravel, and ground asphalt.
Pets

Dogs are NOT allowed on Apple Tours.
Other Offerings
-
Apple tour guests are welcome to participate in our other fun offerings on the farm. Activity armbands and other U-pick crops can be purchased onsite at our ticket booth.
-
The farm closes at 4 pm and on-site guests will be asked to leave shortly after closing.
Rescheduling
-
Guests with an apple tour reservation can self-manage the reservation via their confirmation email. Tours do book up quickly so this will affect your ability to reschedule.
-
In the event that a guest is unable to make their scheduled apple tour, they can reschedule via self-service on the Xola booking system. To make changes to your reservation, bring up your confirmation or reminder email, click the "Manage this Booking" hyperlink, and you will be taken to a Self-Service page where updates can be made.
